“Looking for a life” – solo acoustic live performance by @davidmyhr at Bed and Beach Barcelona

One of my favorite Spanish cities is Barcelona with its unique combination of city- and beachlife. My sister-in-law Carol lives there with her boyfriend Alberto so we go there every once in a while. A few years ago we even lived in their apartment while they were away travelling for a year. Someone had to take care of the cats and we willingly volunteered!
Carol & Alberto recently turned the whole building into a really nice guesthouse called Bed & Beach Barcelona which I can strongly recommend to anyone who goes to Barcelona and want to save lots of money on accommodation but still enjoy a nice, fresh, clean, cozy and homey guesthouse. I mean after all – all you need is a bed, wi-fi and an AC, right? Another great thing is the rooftop terrace where you can enjoy the sunset with a great view over the city.
It was to this very rooftop, one day in the middle of July this summer of 2011, that I decided to bring an acoustic guitar and burst out into an impromptu acoustic version of my summer single “Looking for a life”. I started playing as soon as I had set up my computer to record the sound and convinced Paula and Carol to film the event with their iPhones. It was then when I suddenly realized I probably should have rehearsed the song at least once before recording it. What bugs me the most is that I leave out the lines “But now I’m here, the place we met, but hey no worries no regrets…” in the second half of verse two (sorry Andreas Mattsson who wrote the lyrics!). However, the sun was setting and we were eager to go and have a paella at the great Restaurant 7 Portes so it had to go fast. At least you’ll be able to enjoy nice summer weather and the view!
